Art as a Magnifying Glass to the World
I am Kaisa Rekinen, an illustrator and graphic designer from Vantaa. I have been fortunate enough to do creative work for about 25 years now, and my journey has included countless different projects – small and large, delicate and bold, everyday and more celebratory. Each project has been an opportunity to tell a story visually and create something meaningful.
For me, graphic design and illustration are much more than a profession – they are a way of seeing the world. I am inspired by people, encounters, colors, nature, and how visual elements can evoke emotions and build connections between people. Authenticity, a warm atmosphere, and ensuring the end result feels just right are the most important aspects of my work.
Warmth and Authenticity Guide My Art
I create unique illustrations for various needs with a fresh and relaxed approach, without compromising on quality. My works reflect cheerfulness, community spirit, diversity, and human warmth. I want to create images that not only look good but also feel good – images that embody life and a story.
The Use of Color and Playfulness in Art Are Extremely Important to Me
Designing materials for children and those working with children is especially close to my heart. The world of children is full of imagination, colors, and insights, and I consider it important to be involved in building visual environments that inspire, support learning, and bring joy to everyday life.
Paper Products Balance Digital Art
Designing paper products and creating patterns are also strong areas of my expertise. I love how illustrations can continue their life in printed products, on surfaces, and in everyday objects – becoming part of people's daily lives.
My Goal is to Visualize Meaningfulness
For me, the most important thing is to do work that feels meaningful and leaves a mark. I believe that good design is not just beautiful to look at; it builds connection, trust, and joy. That is exactly what I want to offer through my work – visual stories that stay in mind and in the heart.
